Reno Ukulele Festival

10th Annual Reno Ukulele Festival, May 2-5, 2018

The Reno Ukulele Festival is moving…to Reno! For the first time ever, since our inaugural affair in Minden and after eight years in Sparks, we have a new home in Reno–and what a home it is! The Peppermill is a spectacular four-diamond property that is rated both Reno’s best hotel and best value. It’s still owned by the friends who founded the property as a coffee shop in the 70’s, so there’s a unique blend of family feel and customer service values with luxury resort surroundings.

The Tuscany themed Peppermill features superb rooms, ten restaurants and eateries, a geothermal heated pool, exquisite spa and workout facilities, and a window on the world everywhere you look via giant video screens showing action from around the globe. Our festival area is far removed from the casino, in fact you can bypass it altogether, so smoke will no longer be an issue! But if you are a gamer, the action is only a short jaunt away.

Our 10th Anniversary will celebrate more than just our festival’s tenth year. Everyone’s got at least one special day, whether it’s the anniversary of your birth, your wedding, your grandchild’s first tooth, or the day you brought home your new best friend from the rescue shelter. And what better way to salute it than with music! The date’s not important – if it occurs in 2018, your anniversary is worth commemorating! What will you celebrate?

We’ll have several couples amongst our roster of instructors and performers, including some “recentlyweds.” And we’ll bring back some old friends we haven’t seen in a few years, add a new face or two, and unveil some new surprises! Don’t miss our biggest bash ever – including an extra full day of music and workshops! Mark your calendar: May 2-5, 2018. (Yes, we’re starting on Wednesday!)

Changes to the Schedule!
We will have an entirely new schedule for Reno Uke Fest X: We will open Wednesday afternoon, May 2 with earlybird workshops. Thursday, Friday, and Saturday will be full days of workshops with new presentations on the public stage, which will be in the vendor marketplace. Expanding the workshops to 3+ days will allow me to schedule more breaks and present more exciting fare from the public stage.

Instead of an opening-night reception, there will be ongoing music from our festival performers on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday evenings in the Terrace Lounge, which is right outside the festival entrance. You’ll be able to come and go as you wish, have food and drinks there or at the adjacent Biscotti Restaurant if you like. In short, the first three evenings will have freestyle opportunities for you, adding to what I’ve always tried to provide: a “Create Your Own Festival” experience. All festivities will end with our Saturday Night Headliner Concert. There will be no activity on Sunday.

Because this is our first year at the Peppermill and it is very much in demand for conventions and other large gatherings, our discounted room block has been capped based on attendance at our last festival.

We expect that our room block will sell out.

Our room block is in the luxurious Peppermill Tower. Our rates are $99 weekdays and $129 weekends which is a group discount over regular rates. As with all resorts in Nevada, there is also a $20 “resort fee” that covers airport bus, workout facilities, and a host of other high-end amenities. Please note the reservation system will list that fee at $25, but when you arrive it will be discounted for your group rate.

Also, it is not unusual for an online travel site to purchase a small number of rooms, years in advance. If you find lower prices online, you are free to reserve them, however please advise me via email so that your reservation will be counted toward our contracted group requirements. Thanks!

There are currently plenty of rooms available. If you have any trouble using the reservation system, visit this page or email me and I will assist you.
